We had an excellent attendance in the communal lounge of Avonhurst House yesterday for the latest Befriending Coffee Morning. The sun was shining and the residents joined together as the open doors allowed a warm breeze to flow through the building. Residents were very happy to see each other and talk amongst themselves and catch up on latest events. It is always a great way for them to catch up with each other as some may not have seen each other for a few weeks or indeed since our last coffee morning. We had Amandine, our guest speaker attend to start a discussion climate change. It was a good opportunity for the group to voice their opinions on matters concerning not only the climate but matters that concern them in their community. Ideas were discussed on how concerns within their borough can be dealt with by contacting the correct individuals in the right departments of the council for example. Each resident of Avonhurst House has an individual voice but together, as a group their voices are louder and can be heard. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s coffee morning and we look forward seeing everyone again at our next meeting! (TIP: have your voice heard by writing to your councillor).
